Can I take Xanax with alcohol? |
| |
In general, it is unwise to drink alcohol while taking any of the benzodiazepine class of drugs. The combination depresses the central nervous system and makes it more likely that you will be significantly less alert. Do not drive or operate any machine that could be dangerous. A further problem comes if you have a drinking problem. People who show the potential for addiction should not start taking xanax. The risk of xanax dependence is significantly higher if you habitually drink alcohol.
